CAU Acquisition

A MEGA award of $1.1 million was the deciding factor for this firm to move nearly 200 jobs from Mexico to Michigan.  

EPC-Columbia, Inc.

A MEGA tax credit of $1.1 million is helping this plastics injection molding firm be competitive and successful in auto and non-automotive markets.  

Fisher Coachworks, LLC

This manufacturer of ultralight mass transit hybrid buses found its MEGA tax credit of $11.3 million and Michigan's stellar manufacturing expertise to be deciding factors in selecting Michigan over Tennessee ad a home base, creating 500 direct and 1,200-1,500 indirect jobs over the next five years.
 

Global Tooling Systems, Inc.

This firm is using its $2.2 million-dollar MEGA tax credit to accelerate its flight pattern in aerospace product engineering and manufacturing.  

Great Lakes Towers, L.L.C.

Using a $3.7 million-dollar MEGA tax credit for expansion, Great Lakes Towers will build a commercial wind manufacturing facility in Monroe, with full production expected by 2011. Another incentive to expand in Michigan: the state’s highly-skilled workforce.  

Hart & Cooley, Inc.

A leader in advanced manufacturing of registers, grilles, diffusers, duct systems and VI germicidal lighting, Hart & Cooley’s $1.3 million-dollar MEGA award allows the firm agility to consolidate 48 positions in R & D, engineering, finance and customer service in Grand Rapids.  

HoMedics, Inc.

Continuous innovation in life science products and the need to attract at least 62 highly-skilled engineers and designers over five years will be propelled by MEGA’s $1.1 million expansion grant.  

Michigan Brewing Company

A $722,957 MEGA tax credit allowed Michigan Brewing Company to roll out its specialty brew, Kid Rock, in spring 2009, and to focus its planned expansion with 62 jobs by 2010, and 161 new jobs within five years.

Northern United Brewing, LLC

Northern United Brewing plans to use its $931,000 MEGA tax credit to expand its workforce of chemists, brewers, and sales personnel to create 150 new jobs over five years. An expanded production facility is envisioned, using a wide variety of Michigan’s agri-goods in the firm’s micro-brews, wines and spirits.  

RIIS, L.L.C.

This Royal Oak-based IT consulting and web applications firm is using its MEGA tax credit of $1.1 million to consolidate its workforce in Michigan over other states. They were looking for innovators that always kept thinking about how to grow the firm’s strengths. They found that workforce ethic in Michigan.  

SeverStal International

A manufacturer of flat-rolled steel for the automotive, appliance and construction markets, SeverStal is using a $40 million-dollar MEGA award to expand its Dearborn operation, creating 200 permanent jobs and thousands of construction project hours. SeverStal also cites water, raw material availability, and a highly-skilled workforce as key to making Michigan its manufacturing headquarters.  

Stardock-Systems

Plymouth-based Stardock-Systems found the $1.2 million-dollar MEGA tax credit helped level the playing field to quickly expand its desktop software development, PC games, and 3-D animation products in a highly competitive, growing market. Stardock intends to lure talent back to Michigan, creating at least 50 new jobs over the next two years.  

The Virtual Try-Out Space Co.

ESI North America’s Virtual Try-Out Space Company, an engineering simulation software company for automotive, aerospace, thin-film semiconductor and fuel cell technologies, is using its $2.8 million-dollar MEGA tax credit to grow in Michigan over competing sites in Alabama, South Dakota and Virginia. The firm expects to create 110 jobs over 10 years.  

Tribal Manufacturing

Tribal Manufacturing is using its $3.9 million-dollar MEGA tax credit at its Marshall facility to grow its workforce capability to produce custom-designed plumbing products and fittings for wholesale and retail markets.  

W Industries

A global metal fabricator for the aerospace and defense industries, Detroit-based W Industries is using its $9.7 million-dollar MEGA tax credit to accelerate its production resources and create 900+ jobs.  

Wonderstruck Studios, L.L.C.

Wonderstruck Studios is using its $16.9 million MEGA tax credit to build a world-class digital animation and special effects studio in downtown Detroit. The firm will retrain a workforce to develop sophisticated 3-D software applications, creating 413 new jobs over the next five years.  

Advanced Defense Vehicle Systems Corporation

The designer, developer and manufacturer of military vehicles, plans to invest more than $5.4 million to expand its facility in the Charter Township of Orion.  (01:00)

This leader in e-mail and Web security applications based in Campbell, Calif., plans to expand its research and development center in Ann Arbor.  (01:00)

The $11.5 million project will expand the Ultra Carbon Division in Bay City, add 65 new jobs and retain 126 jobs.  (01:09)

Consolidated Biscuit Company

With its first facility in Michigan, Ohio-based Consolidated Biscuit Company (CBC) will invest $12 million in a new manufacturing center in Tecumseh, creating 1,058 expected new jobs.  (00:56)

The company plans to invest $23.3 million to relocate and expand its Interiors Division tech center and North American headquarters, as well as increase staffing at its Troy location.  (01:27)

Hagerty Insurance Agency

Headquartered in Traverse City for over 40 years, Hagerty Insurance Agency, the leading insurer of collector cars and wooden boats in the United States, plans to invest more than $7 million to expand its operation, in Traverse City.  (01:04)

Icon Creative Technologies Group

With a company investment of approximately $2.7 million, this expansion and relocation within Ann Arbor is expected to create 128 new jobs, including 63 directly by the company.  (01:17)
