SEIC Board
Strategic Economic Investment and Commercialization (SEIC) Board
The SEIC Board seeks to foster the growth of Michigan's high-tech economy by investing in the best research and commercialization opportunities in four competitive edge technologies: advanced automotive, manufacturing and materials; alternative energy; homeland security and defense; and, life sciences. This Board is comprised of 19 members, all of whom are appointed by the Governor. The Board sets the strategic direction for funding competitive edge technologies under the 21st Century Jobs Fund, approves funding decisions and oversees the administration of the program. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) serves as staff to the SEIC Board and administers the activities and programs. Pursuant to statute, advice and guidance is provided to the Board by the Chief Compliance Officer. SEIC Board meetings are open to the public.
